I heard Ibn Umar say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed inside the House, and someone will come to you who will forbid you from doing so, and you will listen to him," meaning Ibn Abbas.Hajjaj al-Misisi said, "And you will listen to what he says."Ibn Jafar said, "Ibn Abbas was sitting close by him."
Imam Ahmad (5053) narrated it from Muhammad bin Jafar, who said, Shubah and Hajjaj related to us. He said, Shubah related to me, from Simak Hanafi, and then he mentioned it.Ibn Hibban (3200) and Bayhaqi (2/328) both narrated it through the route of Shubah, with the same wording. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Hajjaj here is Ibn Muhammad Masissi, known as Awar, and Simak Hanafi is Ibn Walid.
