He did not release himself from any of the restrictions of ihram until he completed his pilgrimage, sacrificed his offering on the Day of Sacrifice, and performed tawaf around the House. Then he released himself from all the restrictions of ihram. Those among the people who had brought offerings and driven the sacrificial animals did the same as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had done.
ثم لم يحلل من شيء حرم منه حتى قضى حجه، ونحر هديه يوم النحر، وطاف بالبيت، ثم حل من كل شيء حرم منه. وفعل مثل ما فعل رسول الله ﷺ من أهدى وساق الهدي من الناس.
Bukhari related it in Hajj (1691), and Muslim in Hajj (1227), both from the hadith of Layth, who said, Aqeel bin Khalid told me, from Ibn Shihab, from Salim, that Abdullah bin Umar said, and he mentioned it in a long hadith, which has been mentioned in its place. His statement, "and he performed tawaf around the House," refers to the second release from the restrictions of Hajj.
