She asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "Why have the people exited their state of ihram while you have not exited yours from your umrah?"He replied, "I have matted my hair and garlanded my sacrificial animal, so I will not exit ihram until I have offered the sacrifice."
أنها قالت لرسول الله ﷺ: ما شأن الناس حلوا، ولم تحلل أنت من عمرتك؟ فقال: إني لبدت رأسي، وقلدت هدي، فلا أحل حتى أنحر.
Malik narrated it in Hajj (180) from Nafi, from Abdullah bin Umar, from Hafsa, and I have mentioned it. Bukhari narrated it in Hajj (1566), and Muslim narrated it in Hajj (1229:176), both of them by way of Malik, with the same wording, similarly.This ruling is specific to the qarin who has brought the sacrificial animal along, as opposed to the mutamatti or the mufrid who wishes to slaughter, or the qarin who has not brought the sacrificial animal along, for they have a choice in doing things earlier or later, as stated in the sahih hadiths, "Do it, there is no harm."It has also been said that his statement ﷺ, "Do it, there is no harm," covers all cases, as an ease and a relief from Allah.
