The Messenger of Allah ﷺ departed from Arafah with Usama riding behind him.Usama reported, "He continued riding at his usual pace until he reached Jam."
أن رسول الله ﷺ أفاض من عرفة، وأسامة ردفه. قال أسامة: فما زال يسير على هيئته حتى أتى جمعا.
Muslim reported it in the Book of Hajj (1286:282) via Yazid bin Harun, who said, Abdul-Malik bin Abu Sulayman informed us, from Ataa, from Ibn Abbas, and he narrated it.His saying, "in his usual manner," means according to his habit of calmness and gentleness. These hadiths explain the manner of his travel ﷺ when moving from Arafah to Muzdalifa, showing that he proceeded with gentleness and calm, especially amid crowding, but whenever he found an opening or space in the road, he would speed up.
