The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer in Madinah. He prayed Zuhr as four units, then prayed Asr at Dhul-Hulayfah as two units. He spent the night there until morning, then mounted his riding animal. When it stood up with him on the open plain of al-Bayda, he praised Allah, glorified Him, and proclaimed His greatness. Then he entered the state of consecration for both Hajj and Umrah, and the people did the same. When we arrived, he ordered the people to release themselves from their consecration, until the Day of Tarwiyah came, when they entered consecration again for Hajj. The Prophet ﷺ sacrificed several camels with his own hand while they stood. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ also sacrificed two horned, white rams in Madinah.
Bukhari narrated it in the Hajj chapter (1551), and Muslim narrated it in the Hajj chapter (690), both through Ayub, from Abu Qilaba, from Anas, and he mentioned it. The wording given is Bukhari's, while Muslim abridged it and confined himself to mentioning the prayer at Zulhulayfa.
