The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed Umrah and we performed it with him. When he entered Mecca, he made the circumambulation and we did so with him, then he went to Safa and Marwa and we went with him, shielding him from the people of Mecca lest anyone throw something at him.A companion of mine asked him, "Did he enter the Kaabah?"He replied, "No."
اعتمر رسول الله ﷺ واعتمرنا معه، فلما دخل مكة طاف وطفنا معه، وأتى الصفا والمروة وأتيناها معه وكنا نستره من أهل مكة أن يرميه أحد. فقال له صاحب لي: أكان دخل الكعبة؟ قال: لا.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on Umrah (1791) from Ishaq bin Ibrahim, from Jareer, from Ismail, from Abdullah bin Abu Awfa, and he related it.Muslim also narrated it in the chapter on Hajj (1332) through another route, from Ismail bin Abu Khalid, from him, in abridged form.
