Abu Hurayra reported, "Abu Bakr al-Siddiq sent me, along with a group of others, during the pilgrimage that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ put him in charge of, the year before the Farewell Pilgrimage, to announce to the people on the Day of Sacrifice, 'After this year, no polytheist may perform the pilgrimage, and no one may circle the House naked.'"
بعثني أبو بكر الصديق في الحجة التي أمره عليها رسول الله ﷺ قبل حجة الوداع في رهط يؤذنون في الناس يوم النحر: لا يحج بعد العام مشرك ولا يطوف بالبيت عريان.
Bukhari narrated it in the book of Hajj (1622) via Yunus (that is, Ibn Yazid Ayli), and Muslim narrated it in the book of Hajj (1347) via Yunus, and Amr (that is, Ibn Harith), both of them from Ibn Shihab Zuhri, who said, Humayd bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf narrated to me, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it. The wording given is that of Muslim, who added, Ibn Shihab said, "Humayd bin Abdul-Rahman used to say, 'The day of sacrifice is the greater Hajj,' because of the hadith of Abu Hurairah."
