The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Recite the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah, for I was given them from beneath the Throne."
قال لي رسول الله ﷺ: اقرأ الآيتين من آخر سورة البقرة، فإني أعطيتهما من تحت العرش.
Imam Ahmad (17324) narrated it from Ishaq bin Ibrahim Razi, who said, Salama bin Fadl narrated to us, who said, Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated to me, from Yazid bin Abu Habib, from Marthad bin Abdullah, from Uqba bin Amir, and he mentioned it. Muhammad bin Ishaq is a mudallis and he narrated using an ambiguous form of transmission. Abu Yaala (1735) and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (17, no. 780) also narrated it through this same route.Muhammad bin Ishaq is corroborated in another narration, which Imam Ahmad (17445) narrated from Yahya bin Ishaq, from Ibn Lahia, from Yazid, from Abu Khayr, from Uqba bin Amir, mentioning the hadith in a similar manner. Abu Khayr is Marthad bin Abdullah. There is well-known criticism of Ibn Lahia, but Qutayba bin Saeed narrated from him, and his narration from him is sound. Firyabi narrated it through his route in Fadail Quran (51).
