This community has been favored over all other nations with three things. The earth has been made for it a place of purification and a place of prayer, and its rows have been made like the rows of the angels.Qurra said, "The Prophet ﷺ used to say this." And I have been given these verses from the end of Surah al-Baqarah from a treasure beneath the Throne, never given to any prophet before me.Abu Muawiya said, "All of it is from the Prophet ﷺ."
فضلت هذه الأمة على سائر الأمم بثلاث: جعلت لها الأرض طهورا ومسجدا، وجعلت صفوفها على صفوف الملائكة. قال: كان النبي ﷺ يقول ذا- وأعطيت هذه الآيات من آخر البقرة من كنز تحت العرش لم يعطها نبي قبلي قال أبو معاوية: كله عن النبي ﷺ.
Imam Ahmad (23251), Abu Dawud Tayalisi (418), Ibn Khuzayma (264), and from him Ibn Hibban (6400), Bazzar in Bahr Zakhkhar (2836, 2845), and Firyabi in Fadail Quran (55) all narrated it through the route of Abu Malik Ashjai, from Rubai bin Harrash, from Huzaifa, who related it. Abu Malik's actual name was Saeed bin Tariq bin Ashaym Ashjai. In one version it reads, "They are in a treasure in a house beneath the Throne."Muslim also narrated it through this same route in his Sahih (522), except that he mentioned only the first two qualities, then said, "And he mentioned another quality," leaving it unspecified without clarifying what it was.As for Hakim's statement (1/563), "Muslim narrated it from the hadith of Abu Malik Ashjai, from Rubai bin Harrash, from Huzaifa, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I was given the closing verses of Surah Baqarah from a treasure beneath the Throne,'" this is a mistake on his part, because Muslim did not state it explicitly as I have described.
