He arrived in Mecca on the fourth night of Dhul-Hijjah, performed tawaf around the Kaaba, and walked between Safa and Marwa. He did not exit the state of ihram because of his sacrificial animal, since he had garlanded it. Then he camped at the upper part of Mecca near al-Hajun, still in the state of ihram for Hajj... the rest of the hadith.
… فقدم مكة لأربع ليال خلون من ذي الحجة، فطاف بالبيت وسعى بين الصفا والمروة ولم يحل من أجل بدنه؛ لأنه قلدها، ثم نزل بأعلى مكة عند الحجون وهو مهل بالحج… الحديث.
Bukhari narrated it in the Hajj chapter (1545) from Muhammad bin Abu Bakr Muqaddami, who said, Fudayl bin Sulayman narrated to us, who said, Musa bin Uqba narrated to me, who said, Kurayb informed me, from Ibn Abbas, and he related it.
