The Prophet ﷺ set out at night from al-Jiranah, walking to perform Umrah, then returned to al-Jiranah by morning as though he had spent the night there. When the sun passed its zenith, he left al-Jiranah through the valley of Sarif until he reached the road, the road to Madinah, from Sarif.
أن النبي ﷺ خرج ليلا من الجعرانة حين مشى معتمرا فأصبح بالجعرانة كبائت حتى إذا زالت الشمس خرج عن الجعرانة في بطن سرف حتى جاء مع الطريق طريق المدينة من سرف.
This was narrated by Nasai (2863), Tirmidhi (935), and Ahmad (15513), all through the hadith of Ibn Jurayj, who said, Muzahim bin Abu Muzahim narrated to me, from Abdul-Aziz bin Abdullah (bin Usayd), from Muharrish Kaabi, and he related it.Tirmidhi said, as found in some manuscripts, "This is a hasan gharib hadith, and we do not know of any hadith from Muharrish Kaabi from the Prophet ﷺ other than this one, and it is said that it comes through a connected chain."Abu Dawud (1996) narrated it through the route of Saeed bin Muzahim bin Abu Muzahim, who said, My father Muzahim narrated to me, with his chain, similarly.Its chain is hasan on account of Muzahim bin Abdullah bin Muzahim Makki, the freed slave of Umar bin Abdul-Aziz. A number of narrators transmitted from him, including Zuhri despite his earlier standing, and Ibn Jurayj as already mentioned. He had few hadiths, as Ibn Saad said, while Dhahabi went too far in his assessment, saying in Kashif, "Trustworthy." The truth is that his hadith is hasan. Ibn Hajar also graded this hadith of his as hasan in Isabah.
