Imam Ahmad narrated it (26793, 26794), as did Tabarani in al-Kabir (24/267), Tirmidhi in al-Shamail (18), and Ibn Manda in al-Tawhid (827), all of them from the hadith of Yusuf bin Majishun, from his father, from Asim bin Umar bin Qatada, from his grandmother Rumaytha, who related it.Ibn Manda said, "This chain is sahih, following the pattern of Abu Isa and Abu Abdul-Rahman Nasai."I say, its chain is hasan because of Yusuf's father, who is Yaqub bin Abu Salama Majishun, the Qurashi, the Taymi, the Madani. Ibn Saad mentioned him in the third generation of the people of Madinah and said, his kunya was Abu Yusuf, and he was Majishun, and by that name both he and his children came to be known, so they were all known collectively as the Majishun family. Among them were men of jurisprudence and hadith transmission and knowledge, and Yaqub has a small number of hadiths.Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators, and Hafiz said in al-Taqrib, "Truthful."Muslim narrated from him, as did the compilers of the Sunan works, except for Ibn Majah.
