Malik narrated it in the Hajj chapter (180), from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, from Hafsa. Bukhari narrated it in the Hajj chapter (1566), and Muslim in the Hajj chapter (1229), both through the route of Malik, in the same manner.Matting the hair may be done with gum, or it may be done with honey, and this is done to the hair so that it clumps together and becomes matted, so that dust does not get into it, disheveled locks do not appear in it, and lice do not settle in it.
