The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Saad, "This is the righteous servant for whom the Throne shook, the gates of heaven were opened, and the grave was made tight upon him until Allah relieved him."
قال رسول الله ﷺ لسعد: هذا العبد الصالح الذي تحرك له العرش، وفتحت له أبواب السماء، شدد عليه، ففرج الله عنه.
Imam Ahmad narrated it (14505), and Tabarani in al-Kabir (13/6), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (7033), and Hakim (3/206), all of them through the route of Muhammad bin Amr bin Alqama, who said, Yazid bin Abdullah bin Usama bin Had Laythi and Yahya bin Saeed narrated to me, from Muaz bin Rifa Zurqi, from Jabir bin Abdullah, and he mentioned it.I say, its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Amr bin Alqama Laythi, for he is truthful.In another narration from Jabir, he said, We went out with the Messenger of Allah one day to Saad bin Muaz when he died. He said, when the Messenger of Allah had prayed over him, and he was placed in his grave, and it was leveled over him, the Messenger of Allah glorified Allah, so we glorified Him for a long time, then he said Allahu Akbar, so we said Allahu Akbar. It was said, "Messenger of Allah, why did you glorify Allah and then say Allahu Akbar?" He said, "This righteous servant's grave became so constricted upon him that Allah relieved it for him."Imam Ahmad narrated it (14873), and Tabarani in al-Kabir (15/6), both of them from the hadith of Ibn Ishaq, who said, Muaz bin Rifa Ansari, then Zurqi, narrated to me, from Mahmud bin Abdul-Rahman bin Amr bin Jamuh, from Jabir, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan, because Muhammad bin Ishaq has explicitly stated that he narrated directly, and it has been established that Muaz bin Rifa narrated from Jabir, and also from Mahmud bin Abdul-Rahman Jamuh from Jabir, and both are sahih.
