A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "Shall I perform Hajj on behalf of my father?"He replied, "Yes, perform Hajj on behalf of your father. If you do not add good to him, you will not add evil to him either."
جاء رجل إلى النبي ﷺ فقال: أحج عن أبي؟ قال: نعم حج عن أبيك فإن لم تزده خيرا لم تزده شرا.
Ibn Majah (2904) reported it from Muhammad bin Abdul-Ala Sanani, who said, Abdul-Razzaq narrated to us, Sufyan Thawri informed us, from Sulayman Shaybani, from Yazid bin Asam, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it.Its chain of transmission is sahih, as Busiri said in Zawaid bin Majah. Sulayman is Ibn Firuz, Abu Ishaq.
