Juwayriyah reported that the Prophet ﷺ left her early in the morning after praying Fajr while she was in her place of prayer. He returned after the morning had grown bright and found her still sitting there.He asked, "Have you remained in the same state I left you in?"She answered, "Yes."The Prophet ﷺ said, "I have said four words three times after leaving you. If they were weighed against all you have said since this morning, they would outweigh it. Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him, by the number of His creation, by what pleases Him, by the weight of His Throne, and by the ink of His words."In another narration, "Glory be to Allah by the number of His creation, glory be to Allah by what pleases Him, glory be to Allah by the weight of His Throne, glory be to Allah by the ink of His words."
أن النبي ﷺ خرج من عندها بكرة حين صلى الصبح وهي في مسجدها، ثم رجع بعد أن أضحى وهي جالسة، فقال: ما زلت على الحال التي فارقتك عليها؟ قالت: نعم. قال النبي ﷺ: لقد قلت بعدك أربع كلمات ثلاث مرات لو وزنت بما قلت منذ اليوم لوزنتهن: سبحان الله وبحمده، عدد خلقه، ورضا نفسه، وزنة عرشه وممداد كلماته. وفي رواية: سبحان الله عدد خلقه، سبحان الله رضا نفسه، سبحان الله زنة عرشه، سبحان الله مداد كلماته.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Remembrance (2726) through several routes from Sufyan, from Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman, the freedman of the family of Talha, from Kurayb, from Ibn Abbas, from Juwayriya, and I have already mentioned it. Kurayb is the son of Abu Muslim, Abu Rushdin, the freedman of Ibn Abbas. The second narration in Muslim is also from another route through Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman, with the same wording.Imam Ahmad narrated it (2334) from Aswad bin Amir, from Sufyan, with his chain of transmission, and in it he said, Ibn Abbas said, Juwayriya's name had been Barra, but the Prophet ﷺ disliked that, so he named her Juwayriya, out of dislike that it be said, "He has come out from Barra." Then he related the hadith.Juwayriya is the daughter of Harith bin Abu Dirar al-Khuzaiyya al-Mustaliqiyya, Mother of the Believers.Sheikh Islam bin Taymiya, may Allah have mercy on him, said, "This makes clear that the weight of the Throne is the heaviest of all weights." (Risala Arshiyya, p. 8)I say, the Footstool is the greatest of created things after the Throne.As for his saying, "the ink of His words," with the mim vowelled with a kasrah, meaning the ink of the words of Allah Almighty. This alludes to His saying, may He be glorified,"Say, 'If the sea were ink for the words of my Lord, the sea would run out before the words of my Lord run out, even if We were to bring another sea like it to replenish it.'"
