People kept relating their dreams to the Prophet ﷺ, indicating that it fell on the seventh night of the last ten. The Prophet ﷺ said, "I see that your dreams agree on the last ten nights, so whoever seeks it should seek it in the last ten."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Tahajjud (1158), and Muslim in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions (2478), both from the hadith of Hammad bin Zayd, from Ayub, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, as mentioned. The wording given is Bukhari's, for he mentioned three hadiths under this chain of transmission, and this is one of them. Muslim mentioned only one other hadith under this chain besides this one, which will come later in the Virtues of Ibn Umar.
