The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever does not abandon false speech and acting upon it, Allah has no need for him to give up his food and drink."Another narration adds, "and ignorant behavior."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من لم يدع قول الزور والعمل به، فليس لله حاجة في أن يدع طعامه وشرابه. وزاد في رواية: والجهل.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Fasting (1903), from Adam bin Abu Iyas, who said, Ibn Abu Dhib narrated to us, who said, Saeed Maqburi narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurairah. The other narration is in the Book of Manners (6057), from Ahmad bin Yunus, who said, Ibn Abu Dhib narrated to us, with the same chain.His saying, "false speech," means lying. "And ignorance" means foolishness. "And acting upon it" means acting according to its demands.
