Malik related it in the Book of Fasting (54), from Yahya bin Saeed (al-Ansari), from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman, that he heard Ayesha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, say (and she related it).Bukhari related it in the Book of Fasting (1950), and Muslim in the Book of Fasting (1146), both through Ahmad bin Abdullah bin Yunus, who said, Zuhayr (that is, Ibn Muawiya) related to us, Yahya bin Saeed (al-Ansari) related to us, from Abu Salama, who said, I heard Ayesha say, "I would owe fasting days from Ramadan, and I could not make them up except in Shaban."Yahya said, the preoccupation was due to the Prophet ﷺ, and because of the Prophet ﷺ.The wording of both is the same, except that Muslim did not set apart Yahya's statement but instead included it at the end of the hadith. In one of his narrations it does appear set apart, worded as follows, "So I thought that this was because of her standing with the Prophet ﷺ. Yahya says that."
