The Prophet ﷺ was traveling during Ramadan when fasting became unbearable for one of his companions, so much so that his she-camel began to wander aimlessly with him beneath the shade of the trees. When the Prophet ﷺ was informed, he ordered the man to break his fast. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called for a vessel of water and held it in his hand. When the people saw him drink, they drank as well.
Abu Yaala (1780) narrated it, and from him Ibn Hibban (3565), from Abdul-Ala bin Hammad, who said, Hammad bin Salama told us, from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir, and he related it.Hakim (1/433) narrated it through another route from Hammad bin Salama, and said, "Sahih according to the criterion of Muslim." Its chain is hasan on account of Abu Zubayr.
