The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed the people and admonished them, then said, "Women, give in charity, for you make up the majority of the people of the Fire."One of the women asked, "Why is that, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Because you curse so much and show ingratitude toward your husbands." He went on, "I have never seen anyone lacking in intellect and religion more capable of overcoming a sensible, level-headed man than you."One of the women asked, "What is this deficiency in her religion and her intellect?"He answered, "The testimony of two of you women equals the testimony of one man, and as for the deficiency in your religion, it is menstruation, during which one of you goes three or four days without praying."There are also reports on this subject from Abu Saeed and Ibn Umar. Abu Isa said, This hadith is hasan sahih gharib through this chain.
عن أبي هريرة عن النبي ﷺ بمثل حديث ابن عمر.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith (80) from Yahya bin Ayub, Qutayba, and Ibn Hajar, who said, Ismail (that is, Ibn Jafar) narrated to us, from Amr bin Abu Amr, from Maqburi, from Abu Hurairah, though he did not give the wording of the hadith but instead referred to the wording of the hadith of Ibn Umar.Tirmidhi gave the full wording (2613), narrating from Abu Abdullah Harim bin Masaar Azdi Tirmidhi, who said, Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad narrated to us, from Suhayl bin Abu Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed the people and admonished them, then said, "O women, give charity, for you make up most of the people of the Fire." A woman among them said, "Why is that, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Because you curse so much and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have not seen any lacking in intelligence and religion more capable of overcoming men of sound judgment and reason than you." A woman among them said, "What is this lacking in our religion and intelligence?" He said, "The testimony of two women equals the testimony of one man, and as for the lack in your religion, one of you may go three or four days during her menstrual period without praying."Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih." In another copy it reads, "Hasan sahih gharib."
