The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Company of women, give in charity and seek forgiveness often, for I have seen that you make up the majority of the people of the Fire."A bold woman among them asked, "Messenger of Allah, why are we the majority of the people of the Fire?"He replied, "You curse frequently and are ungrateful to your husbands. I have never seen anyone more capable of overcoming a sensible man than you, despite your deficiency in intellect and religion."She asked, "Messenger of Allah, what is this deficiency in intellect and religion?"He answered, "As for the deficiency in intellect, the testimony of two women equals the testimony of one man, so that is the deficiency in intellect. And she spends nights without praying and breaks her fast in Ramadan, so that is the deficiency in religion."
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: يا معشر النساء تصدقن، وأكثرن الاستغفار، فإني رأيتكن أكثر أهل النار، فقالت امرأة منهن جزلة: وما لنا يا رسول الله أكثر أهل النار؟ قال: تكثرن اللعن، وتكفرن العشير، وما رأيت من ناقصات عقل ودين أغلب لذي لب مسكين قالت: يا رسول الله، وما نقصان العقل والدين؟ قال: أما نقصان العقل فشهادة امرأتين تعدل شهادة رجل، فهذا نقصان العقل، وتمكث الليالي ما تصلي، وتفطر في رمضان فهذا نقصان الدين.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith (79), from Muhammad bin Rumh, who reported to us from Layth, from Ibn Hadi, from Abdullah bin Dinar, from Abdullah bin Umar, and he related the hadith.His saying, "a woman among them, jazlah" jazlah, with the jim vowelled with fatha and the zay silent, means one possessing intelligence and sound judgment.
