She reported that the Prophet ﷺ came in to see her on a Friday while she was fasting. He asked, "Did you fast yesterday?"She replied, "No."He asked, "Do you intend to fast tomorrow?"She replied, "No."He said, "Then break your fast."Hammad bin al-Jad reported that Qatada heard Abu Ayub say, "Juwayriyah told me that he ordered her to break her fast, so she broke it."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Fasting (1986) through the route of Shuba, from Qatada, from Abu Ayub, from Juwayria bint Harith, and mentioned it with his wording, "Hammad bin Jaad said... etc." The Hafiz said, "Abu Qasim Baghawi connected it in Jam Hadith Hudba bin Khalid, where he said, Hudba narrated to us, Hammad bin Jaad narrated to us, Qatada was asked about the fasting of the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, Abu Ayub narrated to me, and he mentioned it." At the end of it he said, "So he ordered her, and she broke her fast." Hammad bin Jaad has some weakness in him.
