The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade continuous fasting without breaking it.They said, "Messenger of Allah, but you yourself fast continuously?"He replied, "I am not like you. I am given food and drink."
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهي عن الوصال. فقالوا: يا رسول الله، فإنك تواصل؟ فقال: إني لست كهيئتكم إني أطعم وأسقى.
Malik narrated it in Siyam (39), from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, as mentioned. Bukhari narrated it in Sawm (1962), and Muslim in Siyam (1102), both of them through the route of Malik, with the same chain.
