He invited an Arabi to share his meal on the Day of Sacrifice, but the Arabi said, "I am fasting."He replied, "I heard Abdullah bin Umar say, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid fasting on these days.'"
أنه دعا أعرابيا إلى طعامه، وذلك يوم النحر، فقال الأعرابي: إني صائم. فقال: إني سمعت عبد الله بن عمر يقول: سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يعني ينهي عن صيام هذه الأيام.

Ibn Khuzayma (2148), Abd bin Humayd (830), and Nasai in Kubra (2899) all narrated it from the hadith of Abdul-Razzaq, who said, Maamar narrated to us, from Asim bin Sulayman, from Muttalib bin Abdullah, and he mentioned it.In Ibn Khuzayma's copy it appears as "Abdullah bin Umar," but the correct reading is that it is Abdullah bin Amr. I did not find this hadith in Musannaf Abdul-Razzaq in its expected places, so look into where he narrated it.Muttalib bin Abdullah bin Muttalib is a figure whose hearing from the companions is disputed. Bukhari said, "I do not know of Muttalib bin Hantab having heard directly from any of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, except that he says, 'One who witnessed the Prophet ﷺ narrated to me.'" Ilal al-Kabir by Tirmidhi (964/2).The chain is sahih, and it contains an explicit statement of his hearing from Abdullah bin Amr, so we cannot dismiss this explicit statement on the basis of Bukhari's remark, which is general in nature. Moreover, his statement, "One who witnessed the Prophet ﷺ narrated to me," indicates that he heard from a number of the companions, and his explicit statement of having heard from one particular companion is simply an explanation of that general remark.
