Abu Saeed reported, I heard a hadith from him that pleased me, so I said to him, "Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ yourself?"He replied, "Would I attribute to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ something I did not hear? I heard him say, 'Fasting is not valid on two days, the day of Adha and the day of Fitr at the end of Ramadan.'"
عن أبي سعيد، قال: سمعت منه حديثا فأعجبني، فقلت له: أنت سمعت هذا من رسول الله ﷺ؟ قال: فأقول على رسول الله ﷺ ما لم أسمع؟ قال: سمعته يقول: لا يصلح الصيام في يومين: يوم الأضحى، ويوم الفطر من رمضان.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Prayer (1197), and Muslim in the Book of Fasting (827: 140), both through Abdul-Malik bin Umayr, "I heard Qazaah, the freed slave of Ziyad," and so on. The wording given is that of Muslim. Bukhari mentioned it more fully than this, and it will be mentioned in its proper place.Bukhari also related it in the Book of Fasting (1991) through another route, from Abu Saeed, who said, "The Prophet ﷺ forbade fasting on the Day of Fitr and the Day of Sacrifice, and forbade al-Samma, and forbade a man wrapping himself in a single garment, and forbade prayer after Fajr and after Asr."
