The Prophet of Allah ﷺ and Zayd bin Thabit ate their predawn meal together. When they finished, the Prophet of Allah ﷺ rose for the prayer and prayed. We asked Anas, "How long was it between their finishing the meal and beginning the prayer?"He replied, "About the time it takes a man to recite fifty verses."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Tahajjud (1134), from Yaqub bin Ibrahim, who said, Rauh narrated to us, who said, Saeed narrated to us, from Qatada, from Anas bin Malik, and he related it.Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Fasting (1097), through another route, from Waki, from Hisham, from Qatada, with the same content, and the wording given here is that of Bukhari. His saying, "to the prayer and prayed," refers to the prayer of Fajr. And his saying, "their entering into the prayer" means the prayer of dawn.
