The Prophet ﷺ said, "Let none of you, or any one of you, be prevented by the call of Bilal from eating his pre-dawn meal, for he calls out, or makes the announcement, while it is still night, so that the one standing in prayer may return to rest, and the one sleeping may awaken. It is not yet the dawn or the morning until it appears like this." He gestured with his fingers, raising them upward and then lowering them downward.Zuhayr, who is Ibn Muawiya al-Jufi, demonstrated with his two index fingers, placing one above the other, then extending them out to his right and left.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of adhan (621), and Muslim in the Book of Fasting (1093), both through Sulayman Taymi, from Abu Uthman Nahdi, from Abdullah bin Masud, who related it.
