Umar bin Khattab sent for me, inviting me to the predawn meal. He said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called it the blessed meal."
أرسل إلي عمر بن الخطاب يدعوني إلى السحور. وقال: إن رسول الله ﷺ سماه الغداء المبارك.

Tabarani related it in Al-Awsat (505) from Ahmad bin Qasim bin Musawir Jawhari, who said, "Muhammad bin Ibrahim, brother of Abu Muamar, narrated to us, he said, Sufyan bin Uyayna narrated to us, from Ibrahim bin Maysara, from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas," and he related it.Via this same route, Khatib related it in his Tarikh (1/387) in the biography of Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin Muamar Hudhali, Abu Bakr, and he quoted from Musa bin Harun that he was truthful, with nothing objectionable about him.Haythami mentioned it in Majma (3/151) and quoted from Musa bin Harun Hammal, just as Khatib had mentioned. He said, "Ibn Main was asked about Abu Muamar, and he said, 'Someone like Abu Muamar need not be asked about.' He and his brother were among the people of hadith, and the rest of its narrators are trustworthy."
