The Prophet ﷺ said, "Eat the predawn meal, for there is blessing in the suhoor."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: تسحروا فإن في السحور بركة.
Nasai (2144) narrated it from Muhammad bin Bashshar, who said, Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi told us, Abu Bakr bin Ayyash told us, from Aasim, from Zirr, from Abdullah, and he recounted it.Ibn Khuzayma (1936) also narrated it by this same route, saying, Abu Yahya Muhammad bin Abdul-Raheem Bazzaz told us, Ahmad bin Yunus told us, Abu Bakr bin Ayyash told us, with this same isnad, identically, as a raised hadith. This refutes anyone who narrated it as a stopped hadith.That person is Ubaydullah bin Saeed, who narrated from Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi with his isnad. Nasai (2145) narrated this version from him as well, and Nasai did not give preference to either of the two over the other.Whoever raises it has, in his view, an addition to the knowledge conveyed, and that addition is accepted. Abu Bakr bin Ayyash was a trustworthy and virtuous man, except that when he grew old his memory weakened. Abdul-Rahman bin Mahdi transmitted from him in two ways, one raised and one stopped.Ahmad bin Yunus corroborated him in raising it, and there is supporting evidence for it, as mentioned previously.
