Abdullah bin Masud reported,
Regarding "He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord" [Najm 53:18], he said, "He saw a green covering that filled the horizon of the sky."

Bukhari narrated it in "The Beginning of Creation" (3233), from Hafs bin Umar, who said, "Shubah narrated to us, from Amash, from Ibrahim, from Alqama, from Abdullah bin Masud," and he related it.Sufyan followed him in narrating it, from Amash, and in his version it says, "He saw a green rafraf that filled the horizon."Bukhari narrated it in tafsir (4858), from Qabisa, from Sufyan.
