The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to her and asked, "Is there any food?"She replied, "No, by Allah, Messenger of Allah, we have no food except a bone from a sheep that was given to my freedwoman from the charity."He said, "Bring it here, for it has reached its rightful place."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Zakat (1073) through several routes from Layth, from Ibn Shihab, that Ubayd bin Sabbaq said, "Juwayriyyah, wife of the Prophet ﷺ, informed him..." and then he related the hadith.Regarding his statement, "reached its proper place," Nawawi said, this is with a kasrah on the ha, meaning the ruling of charity no longer applied to it, and it became lawful for us.
