Jabir bin Abdullah reported,

A man from Banu Udhrah freed a slave of his by tadbir, meaning the slave would become free upon his master's death. News of this reached the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who asked him, "Do you have any wealth besides him?"The man replied, "No."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Who will buy him from me?"Naeem bin Abdullah al-Adawi bought him for eight hundred dirhams, which he brought to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ handed the money to the man and said, "Begin with yourself and spend on it. If anything is left over, give it to your family. If anything remains after your family, give it to your relatives. If anything remains after your relatives, then give it like this, and like this," gesturing in front of him, to his right, and to his left.
