He reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that a cluster of dates from every orchard be given to the mosque.
أن رسول الله ﷺ أمر من كل حائط بقنو للمسجد.
Ibn Khuzayma (2466), Ibn Hibban (3288), and Hakim (1/417) all narrated it through the hadith of Saeed bin Abu Maryam, from Darawardi, from Ubaydullah, from Nafi, from Abdullah bin Umar, who said this, then related it.Ibn Khuzayma and Ibn Hibban paired Abdullah together with his brother Ubaydullah.Ibn Hibban said, "This Abdullah is Abdullah bin Umar bin Hafs bin Asim bin Umar bin Khattab, one of the devoted worshippers among the people of Madinah. Asceticism and worship overcame him so completely that he would confuse reports without realizing it. Since this happened often in his narrations, citing his reports as evidence is no longer valid, and our reliance in this report is on his brother Ubaydullah rather than on him."Hakim said, it is sahih according to the criterion of Muslim.Haythami mentioned it in Majma (3/77) and attributed it to Tabarani in Awsat, saying, "Its narrators are the narrators of sahih."The word qina is like qinw, meaning a cluster of a palm branch with the fresh dates still on it.
