The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no soul among the children of Adam but owes a charity for every day the sun rises."Someone asked, "Messenger of Allah, where are we to find charity to give?"He replied, "The gates of goodness are many. Glorifying Allah, praising Him, declaring His greatness, and affirming His oneness. Commanding what is right and forbidding what is wrong. Removing harm from the road. Making the deaf hear. Guiding the blind. Directing the one who seeks direction to what he needs. Running with the strength of your legs to help the distressed who calls for aid. Carrying with the strength of your arms alongside the weak. All of this is charity from you to yourself."
Ibn Hibban (3377) narrated it from Ibn Salm, who said, Harmala narrated to us, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Amr bin Harith informed me, that Saeed bin Abu Hilal narrated to him from Abu Saeed Mahri, from Abu Dharr, and he mentioned it. Its chain is sahih.Similar in meaning is what was narrated from Abdullah bin Abbas, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "On every joint of a person there is a prayer." A man from the people said, "This is difficult, who can bear this?" He said, "Enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong is a prayer, carrying a burden for the weak is a prayer, and every step one of you takes toward a prayer is a prayer."Abu Yaala (2334, 2435) narrated it, and Bazzar, in Kashf Astar (926), through two routes, Walid bin Abu Thawr and Abu Ahwas, both from Simak bin Harb, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who said, and he mentioned it.Walid bin Abu Thawr is Walid bin Abdullah bin Abu Thawr, attributed to his grandfather, and he is daif. Bazzar narrated it only through his route alone. However, Walid has been corroborated, and the defect lies in Simak bin Harb. Although he was truthful in himself, once his memory changed he came to accept whatever was suggested to him, and his narration from Ikrima in particular is confused, as Imam Ahmad and other scholars have said.Bazzar said, "We do not know it from Ibn Abbas except through Simak from Ikrima from him."His saying, "On every joint of a person there is a prayer," means every joint among the joints of a person.Tabarani narrated it in Saghir (1/129) through another route, through Ali bin Muhammad Ziyadi Abadi Shirazi, who said, Salim bin Nuh narrated to us, from Hisham bin Hassan, from Qays bin Saad, from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas, raising the hadith to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "On every joint of the son of Adam there is a charity every day, and two rakahs of Duha suffice for all of that."Tabarani said, "No one narrated it from Hisham bin Hassan except Salim, Ali bin Muhammad narrated it alone."I say, this is the defect, and what is correct in this matter is what Sufyan bin Uyayna narrated, from Amr, from Tawus, as his own statement. Husayn bin Harb recorded it in Birr wal-Sila (286), saying, Sufyan bin Uyayna informed us of it.
