The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sun never rises but two angels are sent on either side of it, calling out so that all the inhabitants of the earth hear them except humans and jinn, 'People, come to your Lord, for what is little and sufficient is better than what is plentiful and distracting.' And the sun never sets but two angels are sent on either side of it, calling out so that all the inhabitants of the earth hear them except humans and jinn, 'Allah, grant the one who spends a replacement, and grant the one who withholds destruction of his wealth.'"
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ما طلعت شمس قط إلا بعث بجنبتيها ملكان يناديان يسمعان أهل الأرض إلا الثقلين: يا أيها الناس هلموا إلى ربكم فإن ما قل وكفى خير مما كثر وألهى، ولا أبت شمس قط إلا بعث بجنبتيها ملكان يناديان يسمعان أهل الأرض إلا الثقلين: اللهم أعط منفقا خلفا وأعط ممسكا مالا تلفا.
Reported by Imam Ahmad (21721), and Tabarani in al-Awsat (2912), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (686), and Hakim (2/444–445), all of them through the route of Qatada, from Khulayd al-Asri, from Abu Darda, and he related it. The wording is Ahmad's, and some of them related it in abbreviated form. Hakim said, "A hadith sahih in isnad." I say, it is as he said, for Khulayd, who is Ibn Abdullah Abu Sulayman al-Asri, Muslim narrated from him, except that his hadith is hasan. This is because I have not come across anyone's confirmation of his reliability, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in al-Thiqat (4/210) and said, "It is said that this man was a freed slave of Abu Darda."
