The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I am holding you back by your waistbands from the Fire, saying, 'Come away from the Fire!' But you are throwing yourselves into it, plunging into it the way moths and grasshoppers plunge into a fire, while I am holding you back by your waistbands.I will go ahead of you to the Pool, and you will come to me there in groups and scattered individuals. I will recognize you by your features and your names, as a man recognizes his own horse." Another narrator said, "As a man recognizes a stray she-camel among his own herd.""Then some of you will be seized and dragged off to the left, and I will say, 'My Lord, they are mine, my followers, my followers!' But it will be said, 'Muhammad, you do not know what they introduced after you. They turned back on their heels after you were gone.'Let me not find any of you coming on the Day of Resurrection carrying a bleating sheep on his shoulders, calling out, 'Muhammad!' For I will say, 'I can do nothing for you. I have already delivered the message.'And let me not find any of you coming on the Day of Resurrection with a groaning camel on his shoulders, calling out, 'Muhammad!' For I will say, 'I cannot avail you anything against Allah. I have already delivered the message.'And let me not find any of you coming on the Day of Resurrection carrying a worn-out leather hide, saying, 'Muhammad, Muhammad!' For I will say, 'I can do nothing for you. I have already delivered the message.'"
Bazzar narrated it in Kashf Astar (900) from Fadl bin Sahl, who said, "Malik bin Ismail narrated to us," who said, "Yaqub bin Abdullah Qummi narrated to us, from Hafs bin Humayd, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, from Umar bin Khattab," and he related it.Bazzar said, "We do not know it from Umar except through this chain, and we do not know anyone who narrated from Hafs except Qummi."I say, its chain is hasan because of the criticism directed at Yaqub bin Abdullah Qummi, though his hadith is nonetheless hasan. As for Hafs bin Humayd, he is Qummi, Abu Ubayd. Ibn Main said of him, "Reliable," and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Thiqat, though Ibn Madini said of him, "Unknown." Ibn Madini applies this term to those who are not well known in the transmission of hadith, and he may still declare such a person's hadith sahih. This Hafs bin Humayd was not narrated from solely by Yaqub bin Abdullah Qummi as Bazzar claimed, for Ashath bin Ishaq Qummi also narrated from him. The conclusion regarding him is that his hadith is hasan.Haythami mentioned it in Majma (3/85), and Munziri in Targheeb wa Tarheeb (1185), and both of them said, "Abu Yaala and Bazzar narrated it." Haythami said, "Abu Yaala narrated it in Kabir, and the narrators of all of them are trustworthy." Munziri said, "Their chain is good."His word "qasha," with a kasra on the qaf and a fatha on the shin, means a dried waterskin, though it has also been said to mean a tent made of tanned leather. In the narration of Abu Yaala it appears as "siqa" [waterskin], as can be understood from the statements of the two hadith masters Haythami and Munziri.
