Tabarani reported it in Awsat (Majmaa Bahrayn 1360) from Muhammad bin Abbas the teacher, who said, Abdullah bin Salih Ajli narrated to us, who said, Abdul-Malik bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr narrated to us, from Abdullah bin Abu Bakr, from Amr, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.Bayhaqi also reported it in Sunan al-Kubra (4/110) through another route from Abdullah bin Salih, except that he attributed him to Egypt, this being the one known as Juhani, the scribe of Layth, who was truthful but made many errors, reliable in writing, though he had some carelessness in him. In Tabarani's chain, however, the narrator is Abdullah bin Salih Ajli, who is trustworthy, and the two are close to each other in generation. Allah knows best which one is correct. After citing the full wording of the hadith, Bayhaqi said, "This is the wording of the hadith as narrated by Abdullah bin Salih, while in the narration of Abdul-Aziz it reads, 'The alms of the Muslims are taken from their wealth at their watering places and their courtyards.'"Tabarani said, "No one narrated it from Abdullah bin Abu Bakr except Abdul-Malik bin Muhammad bin Abu Bakr, and Abdullah bin Salih is the sole narrator of it."
