The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When one of you dies, his place is shown to him morning and evening. If he is among the people of Paradise, then it is from among the seats of Paradise, and if he is among the people of the Fire, then it is from among the seats of the Fire. He is told, 'This is your place until Allah resurrects you on the Day of Resurrection.'"
إن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن أحدكم إذا مات عرض عليه مقعده بالغداة والعشي، إن كان من أهل الجنة فمن أهل الجنة، وإن كان من أهل النار فمن أهل النار، يقال له: هذا مقعدك حتى يبعثك الله إلى يوم القيامة.
Malik narrated it in Janaiz (47) from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, as mentioned. Bukhari also narrated it in Janaiz (1379) from Ismail, and Muslim in Jannah (2866) from Yahya bin Yahya, both of them from Malik with a similar wording.
