The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "This is the one for whom the Throne shook, the gates of heaven were opened, and seventy thousand angels witnessed his funeral. He was indeed pressed once by the grave, then it was released from him."
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: هذا الذي تحرك له العرش، وفتحت له أبواب السماء، وشهده سبعون ألفا من الملائكة، لقد ضم ضمة ثم فرج عنه.
Nasai (2055) narrated it from Ishaq bin Ibrahim, who said, Amr bin Muhammad Anqari narrated to us, who said, Ibn Idris narrated to us, from Ubaydullah, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, and he mentioned it.Bayhaqi also reported it in Ithbat Azab Qabr (122) through another route, from Muhammad bin Idris, with his chain, in the same manner, and he said, Amr bin Muhammad Qurashi followed him in narrating it from Ibn Idris. Its chain of transmission is sahih, and Muhammad bin Idris is Imam Shafii Muttalibi.As for what Hakim narrated and graded sahih (3/206), through the route of Ata bin Saaib, from Mujahid, from Ibn Umar, attributing it to the Prophet, with an addition, "Saad was squeezed once in the grave, so I supplicated to Allah to relieve him of it," this chain contains Ata bin Saaib, whose memory had become confused, and it also adds the supplication, and Hafiz bin Kathir faulted it on this basis in Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah (4/128).The hadith has other routes, and the one I have cited is the most sahih of them.
