When the Battle of Uhud was about to take place, my father called me to him at night and said, "I see myself as among the first who will be killed from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ. I am leaving behind no one dearer to me than you, except for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself. I have a debt outstanding, so settle it for me, and treat your sisters well."When morning came, he was the first to be killed, and another man was buried with him in a single grave. Later, I could not bear leaving him with the other, so I exhumed him after six months, and there he was, just as I had laid him on that day, with only a slight change, except for his ear.
لما حضر أحد دعاني أبي من الليل فقال: ما أراني إلا مقتولا في أول من يقتل من أصحاب النبي ﷺ، وإني لا أترك بعدي أعز علي منك، غير نفس رسول الله ﷺ، وإن علي دينا فاقض، واستوص بأخواتك خيرا، فأصحبنا فكان أول قتيل، ودفن معه آخر في قبر، ثم لم نطب نفسي أن أتركه مع الآخر، فاستخرجته بعد ستة أشهر، فإذا هو كيوم وضعته هنية، غير أذنه.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Funerals (1351) from Musaddad, who reported to us from Bishr bin Mufaddal, who narrated to us from Husayn Muallim, from Ataa, from Jabir, and he mentioned it.The second man in the grave was Amr bin Jamuh bin Zayd bin Haram Ansari, who was a friend of Jabir's father and the husband of his sister, Hind bint Amr.Ibn Ishaq said in Al-Maghazi, "My father narrated to me, from men of Banu Salama, that the Prophet ﷺ said, when Abdullah bin Amr and Amr bin Jamuh were killed, 'Bury them together, for they were true friends to each other in this world.'"For more, see Fath al-Bari (3/216).
