The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed the male grave-robber and the female grave-robber, meaning those who dig up graves to steal from them.
لعن رسول الله ﷺ لمختفي والمختفية. يعني نباش القبور.
Bayhaqi narrated it in Al-Kubra (2708) through the route of Yahya bin Salih Wahazi and Abu Qutayba Salm bin Qutayba, both from Malik, from Abu Rijal Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman, from his mother Amra bint Abdul-Rahman, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.Its chain of transmission is sahih.Yahya bin Yahya Laythi narrated it from Malik in Muwatta, in the book of funerals (44), from Abu Rijal, from his mother Amra bint Abdul-Rahman, as a mursal narration, without mentioning "Ayesha" in the chain of transmission.The ruling goes to whoever connects the chain, because it constitutes an addition from a trustworthy narrator, and this is accepted by the majority.
