A funeral bier was brought to the Prophet ﷺ, and he stood up to pray over it.The people said, "He owes a debt."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Take your companion away and pray over him yourselves."A man said, "His debt is on me, so pray over him."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and prayed over him.
أن النبي ﷺ أتي بجنازة فقام يصلي عليها، قالوا: عليه دين، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: انطلقوا بصاحبكم، فصلوا عليه فقال رجل: علي دينه، فصل عليه، فقام رسول الله ﷺ فصلى عليه.
Bazzar (7804) narrated it from Muhammad bin Muamar, who said, Rawh bin Ubada told us, who said, Muhammad bin Abu Hafsa told us, from Zuhri, from Saeed bin Musayab, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.Bazzar said, "This hadith was narrated by Ibn Abu Dhib from Zuhri, from Abu Salama, and we do not know of anyone who said, 'from Saeed,' except Ibn Abu Hafsa."I say, this is as he said, but it is not unlikely that Zuhri had two hadiths, one being this one, and the other being what comes in the chapter that follows this one. Muhammad bin Abu Hafsa is disputed, though his hadith is hasan. Haythami said in Majmu (3/40), "Its narrators are the narrators of the sahih."
