The Jews brought to the Prophet ﷺ a man and a woman from among them who had committed adultery. He ordered that they be stoned, and they were stoned near the place of funerals beside the mosque.
أن اليهود جاءوا إلى النبي ﷺ برجل منهم وامرأة زنيا، فأمر بهما فرجما قريبا من موضع الجنائز عند المسجد.
Bukhari reported it in the chapter on funerals (1329) from Ibrahim bin Munzir, who said, Abu Damra narrated to us, Musa bin Uqba narrated to us, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, and he mentioned it.Regarding his statement, "the place for funerals was near the masjid," the Hafiz said in Fath al-Bari (1993), "Ibn Battal related from Ibn Habib that the place of prayer for funerals was adjacent to the masjid of the Prophet ﷺ on its eastern side." And he said in another place (12/129), "The musalla is the place where the Eid prayer and funeral prayers were performed, and it is in the direction of Baqi Gharqad."
