Abu Hurairah said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever follows a funeral procession will have one qirat of reward.'"Ibn Umar said, "Abu Hurairah has reported too much from us." So he sent word to Ayesha and asked her, and she confirmed what Abu Hurairah had said.Ibn Umar then said, "We have indeed missed out on many qirats."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Funerals (1323), and Muslim in the Book of Funerals (55/945), both from the hadith of Jareer bin Hazim, who said, Nafi told us, saying, Ibn Umar related that Abu Hurairah said, then he mentioned the hadith as a statement of the Prophet according to Muslim's version. As for Bukhari, he presented it as a saying of Abu Hurairah, but he said, "So Ayesha confirmed Abu Hurairah and said, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say it.'"
