They were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a funeral procession came into view. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up, and those with him stood as well, and they remained standing until it had passed.
أنهم كانوا جلوسا مع النبي ﷺ فطلعت جنازة، فقام رسول الله ﷺ، وقام من معه، فلم يزالوا قياما حتى نفذت.
Nasai (1920) reported it from Ayub bin Muhammad Wazzan, who said, Marwan narrated to us, Uthman bin Hakeem narrated to us, saying, Kharija bin Zayd bin Thabit informed me, from his uncle Yazid bin Thabit, and he related it.Its chain of transmission is sahih. Uthman bin Hakeem is Ibn Abbad bin Hunayf Ansari, Awsi, Abu Sahl Madani, one of the men found in Sahih Muslim. Marwan is Ibn Muawiya bin Harith bin Asma Fazari, one of the men found in all six books, except that he used to obscure the names of his teachers. Here, however, he stated the name plainly, so the charge of obscuring is removed from him in this instance.
