The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned a woman from the children of Israil who filled her ring with musk, and musk is the finest of fragrances.
أن رسول الله ﷺ ذكر امرأة من بني إسرائيل، حشت خاتمها مسكا، والمسك أطيب الطيب.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Expressions in Manners (2252) through various chains from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he mentioned it.In a narration from Abu Dawud (3158) and Tirmidhi (991), it reads, "The best of your perfumes is musk." Both of them reported it in the Book of Funerals, in the chapter on musk for the deceased.Tirmidhi said, "This is what is practiced according to some scholars, and it is the view of Ahmad and Ishaq, though some scholars disliked musk for the deceased."
