One of the daughters of the Prophet ﷺ passed away, so the Prophet ﷺ came to us and said, "Wash her an odd number of times with water and lote leaves, three times, or five, or more if you see fit, and add camphor, or a little camphor, in the final wash. When you have finished, let me know."When we finished, we informed him, and he handed us his waist-wrapper and said, "Shroud her in this." We braided her hair into three plaits and let them hang down behind her.
توفيت إحدى بنات النبي ﷺ فأتانا النبي ﷺ فقال: اغسلنها بالسدر وترا ثلاثا أو خمسا، أو أكثر من ذلك إن رأيتن ذلك، واجعلن في الآخرة كافورا، أو شيئا من كافور، فإذا فرغتن فآذنني، فلما فرغنا آذناه، فألقى إلينا حقوه، فضفرنا شعرها ثلاثة قرون، وألقيناها خلفها.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Funerals (1263), from Musaddad, who said, Yahya bin Saeed narrated to us, from Hisham bin Hassan, who said, Hafsa narrated to us, from Umm Atiya, and he mentioned it.
