The Prophet ﷺ said, "The believer dies with sweat on his brow."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: المؤمن يموت بعرق الجبين.
Tabarani narrated it in Al-Awsat (1530) and Bazzar in his Musnad (1546), both from the hadith of Ishaq bin Ziyad Ubulli, who said, Mualla bin Rashid Ammi narrated to us, Yazid bin Zuray narrated to us, from Yunus bin Ubayd, from Abu Mashar Ziyad bin Kulayb, from Ibrahim Nakhai, from Alqama bin Qays, from Ibn Masud, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Ishaq bin Ziyad Ubulli. Hasan bin Muhammad bin Asad narrated from him and said, "He is a fine, righteous man." Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Al-Thiqat (8/119), and Haythami said in Al-Majma (2/325), "His narrators are trustworthy, and they are the narrators of the Sahih."As for his saying, "the sweat of the brow," it has been said that it is an allusion to the intensity of death, so that his sins might be purified or his rank raised, though other explanations have also been given.
