Ayesha said, "Oh, my head!"The Prophet ﷺ replied, "That would be a blessing, if it happened while I was still alive, for then I could seek forgiveness for you and pray for you."Ayesha said, "Oh, what misery! By Allah, I think you actually wish for my death, and if that were to happen, you would spend the last part of your day as a newlywed with one of your other wives."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Rather, it is I who should say, 'Oh, my head!' I had thought, or intended, to send for Abu Bakr and his son and give my final instructions, lest people make claims or wishful thinkers entertain hopes. Then I said to myself, Allah will refuse and the believers will prevent it, or Allah will prevent it and the believers will refuse."
وا رأساه! فقال النبي ﷺ: ذاك لو كان وأنا حي فأستغفر لك وأدعو لك. فقالت عائشة: وانكلياه! والله إني لأظنك تحب، موتي، ولو كان ذلك لظللت آخر يومك معرسا ببعض أزواجك، فقال النبي ﷺ: بل أنا وارأساه، لقد هممت أو أردت أن أرسل إلى أبي بكر وابنه وأعهد: أن يقول القائلون، أو يتمنى المتمنون، ون، ثم قلت: يأبى الله ويدفع المؤمنون، أو يدفع الله، ويأبى المؤمنون.
